Changing Lanes
Thank you for visiting my site. I do appreciate the clicks! However, I am kind of shifting it off to the side for several reasons. I will still be doing updates to it, but my energy has shifted to promotion and opening a physical location. I'll also still be allowing appointments for Book Nook browsing, but I may have to be randomly unavailable on unforeseen days. As for pricing, I am still verifying the condition of the book and doing comparative pricing at checkout, so rest assured you will be getting the best price possible for your selection.

First, it is very difficult to sell online when most are going to go to Amazon, ThriftBooks, and other big brand names. It has been slow going promoting the website when I only have a few dollars here and there to run an ad for a day, or two, or three. I'm starting from literal chicken scratch, but at least I have a bunch of that! Which leads to the second problem.

​My house is tiny. Not "tiny house" tiny, but close enough. I don't have the room to unpack, catalog and display all of the books that I have available for sale. That inventory is taking up a nearly an entire room in the "abandoned" house.

So I did some figuring, and I figured that I might be able to scratch out enough to lease a space in the upper floor of "The Marketplace of Chadron."

Only because most of the people that need to go there already know where to go. Not good for businesses that survive by shopping whims. Thus my hardcore push on my extremely budget-friendly self-promotion: I want you all to know how to find me! Plus, I have a fundraiser going for anyone that would be so kind as to donate to help get the retail side of my non-profit going.

Branded items are also being added to the website as an additional way to support and promote the store. I am doing the best I can to make the store more user-friendly, but Wix has certain limitations that I am not a fan of. It's unfortunate, because I like their platform much better than others. In the future, if there is a future where my store and non-profit are successful, I'll be handing all of this work that I have been talking about to someone else. Gladly.

Until that time comes, however, I am working on getting all of the business legalities taken care of, licenses obtained, vendors secured, donation rewards in the pipeline, etc., etc., on top of everything else.
